Successful start for the new Multilift generation

At bauma 2019, GEDA presents the new generation of the GEDA Multilift P18 person and material hoist for the first time – one customer is already convinced

The first of the GEDA Multilift P18 hoists presented at the bauma exhibition will soon be making their way north. The end customer is the Norwegian company MB Stillas, whose CEO Kristian Borud ordered two of the completely revised devices straight away on the first exhibition day.

MB Stillas is a young company specialising in scaffolding, with its headquarters in Ingeberg in Norway and further branches in Lillehammer and Skedsmo. From rentals and shipping to assembly and disassembly, MB Stillas offers all-inclusive scaffolding packages for private and commercial customers.

Reliable planning for customers, fair prices and professional project management are at the core of the philosophy of the company, which was founded in 2015.

Through Materialhuset AS, a GEDA partner for many years, MB Stillas already has the transport platform solutions GEDA 500 Z/ZP and GEDA 1500 Z/ZP in its range. MB Stillas also procures the two 2nd generation GEDA Multilift P18 hoists through Materialhuset AS.

MB Stillas CEO Kristian Borud is convinced: "As an enclosed person and material hoist with a higher lifting speed and greater load capacities, the new GEDA Multilift P18 ideally complements the transport platform solutions that we already offer to our customers for hire. Based on the higher lifting speed, load capacity and lifting height, we are expecting high demand for these hoists, particularly in the Oslo area."

GEDA Multilift P18 convinces at first use

Together with Ola Talåsen and Jon Magne Hagen from MB Stillas, Kristian Borud learned about the advantages of the new Multilift P18 generation.

The hoist immediately impresses with its completely revised, clean design. Two platform lengths – 3.2 m and 3.7 m – allow easy transporting of particularly bulky construction materials. The extensions are made on the A-side of the car. As part of the redesign of the car interior, in addition to the assembly guard, the control unit of the car switch box was also recessed and integrated without interfering protrusions.

To keep wear on the gear rack and pinion as low as possible, the GEDA Multilift P18 is equipped with an automatic lubrication device. The new lubrication pump is included as standard and is compatible with the entire GEDA Power Grease line.

Depending on the construction site conditions or customer requirements, power consumption can be influenced by reducing the load and/or speed so that a 32 A connection will be sufficient instead of the standard 63 A connection. This opens up a significantly broader range of applications for the hoist.

Great emphasis was also placed on ease of use: Instead of previously two car switch boxes, only one large box is now used, while a completely revised innovative control system ensures even greater ease of operation. In addition to this, the new, much wider assembly plank ensures better accessibility during assembly. Easy maintenance was also a focal point of the redesign. All wear parts are quickly and easily accessible on the new version of the GEDA Multilift P18.

The lifting speed is 40 m/min, and the GEDA UNI-X-MAST is used as the mast system. It was also presented at bauma 2019 for the first time and will replace the existing GEDA UNI-MAST system.

The remote service option completes the overall concept of the new GEDA Multilift P18.

Continued success

On the Norwegian market, the GEDA Multilift P18 material hoist has been a very popular hoist solution for efficient and safe transport of persons and materials on construction sites. MB Stillas is now the first company in Europe to take delivery of two GEDA Multilift P18 hoists of the latest generation.

Florian Draxler, GEDA Regional Sales Manager for Scandinavia, provides a positive summary: "The positive feedback shows that the second generation of the GEDA Multilift P18 meets the demands of the market, allowing us to create customised solutions for our partners worldwide. Always in touch with the market, we can convince even the most demanding customers and expand our partnerships."
