Symbolic handover of the keys

GEDA celebrates the inauguration of the new administration building in Asbach-Bäumenheim

After around 2.5 years of construction, the new GEDA GmbH administration building in Asbach-Bäumenheim was officially opened on January 27, 2025. The opening took place on a small scale, with a select group of guests from politics and business.

The new building offers space for around 220 employees. Employees have been working in the modern premises since October 2024, and the response has been consistently positive. Johann Sailer, Managing Partner of GEDA, emphasized that the well-being of the employees was at the heart of the project - and that staff satisfaction was a key objective.

Restaurant M60: A new meeting place for employees and the community

The M60 restaurant, which was built in place of a traditional canteen, deserves special mention. It will not only serve as a meeting place for GEDA employees, but will also be open to the public in order to create added value for the community. The citizens of Asbach Bäumenheim voted overwhelmingly (83%) in favor of the relocation of Mertinger Straße in a referendum back in 2021 - a decision that made the project possible in the first place. This overwhelming result is now to be returned to the citizens with the new added value. Mayor Martin Paninka described the new building as "clear proof of the bond" between GEDA and Asbach-Bäumenheim.

Johann Sailer himself described the construction of the new administration building as the "second most courageous step in the company's history". The most courageous step, however, was the decision in the 1980s to choose the location in Donau-Ries. Looking to the future, there are also plans to restructure production as soon as the old office building has been demolished.

Praise from guests and partners

District Administrator Stefan Rößle praised the modern, light-flooded building, which meets the requirements of the new working world. Dr. Bettina Kandler (Kandler GmbH) emphasized that the building was designed not only functionally, but also aesthetically, attractively and efficiently. The building is aiming for DGNB Gold certification, which takes into account sustainability and the building's life cycle - a decision that is associated with higher costs, but is considered necessary with a view to future generations.

Reinhold Braun, President of the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the strength of medium-sized businesses in Donau-Ries and highlighted the fact that many managing directors in the region are thinking ahead to the future. "GEDA is sending out a strong signal with this new building," said Braun. Member of Parliament Wolfgang Fackler also praised the new building as proof of the strength of SMEs and as an investment in the future.
