The GEDA Multilift P22 Premium as a helper in England's second largest city
The premium version of the GEDA Multilift P22 was used as a helper on a challenging construction site in the English West Midlands. A building complex with 226 luxury apartments is being built in the city center of Birmingham.
In the heart of the British city of Birmingham, the JQ Rise building complex is being built, consisting of 226 luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments in the city center. Important amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants are within walking distance or just a few minutes away from the apartments. Important facilities such as University College, the Arena and the O2 Academy, to name but a few, are also in the immediate vicinity of the building complex. The modern design and exclusive interior fittings make the apartments sought-after properties for tenants with the highest level of living comfort.
For various reasons, the construction company responsible chose a GEDA Multilift P22 Premium as the ideal helper for the duration of the construction project. It was important that the employees and materials were protected from rain and wind. In addition, unlike open transport platforms, the Multilift can travel at a higher speed, which saves a lot of time and money. For a higher sense of safety, 2.1 m high floor safety doors were chosen, which are possible with the GEDA Multilift series and allow a smaller distance to the building as well as a high speed of the machine.
The elevator was hired through our partner Hoist Hire Service.
Multilift P22 Premium
The GEDA Multilift P22 Premium is in use on the construction site for 12 months, transporting both people and materials to the site. There is a trained elevator operator for transport at height, whose job it is to operate the elevator professionally while the 24 floors are accessed.
These are equipped with high and closed floor safety doors to ensure safe access to the building. With a speed of 54 m/min, the entire construction height of 75 m can be approached quickly. The maximum lifting height of the GEDA Multilift P22 is 200 m. With a load capacity of 2000 kg, the elevator is a real powerhouse.
With a platform size of 1.4 m x 3.2 m x 2.1 m, the elevator offers plenty of space and options for transporting the materials required on the construction site. This includes windows, pipes and everything needed for the dry interior work.
The special feature of this construction site was the anchoring through the windows. A special construction had to be made for this in order not to damage the brick façade. Thanks to the excellent cooperation between Hoist Hire Services, the GEDA construction department and the scaffolding company responsible, this challenge was mastered with flying colors.
Working together for almost 20 years The Bavarian industrial and construction hoist manufacturer GEDA has been working together with Hoist Hire Service on UK construction sites for almost 20 years. In this project, the device was rented out by Hoist Hire Service and installed in front of scaffolding from Intercity Scaffolding.
GEDA and Hoist Hire Service greatly appreciate the long-standing cooperation and once again prove how well they successfully master challenges. The quality and support are decisive for the joint success.
