GEDA in conversation with Zeppelin Rental GmbH

The medium-sized construction and industrial lift manufacturer GEDA GmbH from Asbach-Bäumenheim in Bavaria deliberately involved a long-standing partner in the development of the new GEDA IoT-Box Premium: Zeppelin Rental GmbH. The aim was to develop a solution that meets the requirements of the construction site as closely as possible to the user.
The close cooperation enabled Zeppelin Rental to contribute its practical experience directly to the development and thus actively shape the functions of the new GEDA IoT-Box. The previous GEDA IoT-Box Standard already made GEDA transport platforms "smart". With the new premium version, GEDA is now going one step further: Make your hoist smarter!
On a construction site in Frankfurt, where GEDA transport platforms are already being tested with the GEDA IoT-Box Premium, we had the opportunity to talk to Matthias Trinkaus (Head of Work Platforms, Lifts and Forklifts in the Rhine, Main, Saar region, Zeppelin Rental GmbH). He played a key role in this development project.

Practical development through close partnership

"We have already worked very closely with GEDA in the past," explains Matthias Trinkaus. "At the same time, we have received more and more inquiries from the market in the area of access systems. However, the solutions from other providers that were previously available were reaching their limits in some cases." Against this background, it made sense for Zeppelin Rental to work with GEDA on a new solution that meets the requirements of modern construction sites.

For Zeppelin Rental, the GEDA IoT-Box Premium offers one decisive advantage in particular: less downtime. Thanks to functions such as remote diagnostics, potential problems can be detected at an early stage and often analyzed directly from a distance

The digital solution also brings clear benefits for end customers. Users can keep an eye on their rented elevators at all times from the comfort of their desk.

"Suggested changes were implemented very quickly. Even if we noticed on the construction site that adjustments would be useful, these were implemented within a very short time," reports Trinkaus.
