23 GEDA devices in use for extensive renovation work at the Prague hospital in Motol
Over the last 1.5 years, a total of 23 GEDA transport platforms from Asbach-Bäumenheim in Bavaria have helped with the extensive renovation work at the Prague hospital in Motol. 15 GEDA 1500 Z/ZP, five GEDA 500 Z/ZP and three GEDA 300 Z units were used.
The Motol district of Prague is home to one of the largest hospitals in Europe and the largest
children's hospital in the country. The medical care provided there for children and adults is highly specialized. The newly renovated building is designed in the shape of a cross with four wings and has a helipad for rapid transportation to the emergency room. In pediatrics alone in the C wing, there are ten floors of bedrooms, one floor of medical rooms and three technical floors. The university hospital is used as a teaching base by the 1st-3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University.
Triple power at the hospital
The extensive and intensive renovation work at the hospital in Prague required the help of several scaffolders, façade builders, roofers and interior fit-out workers. Over the past 1.5 years, 23 hard-working helpers from GEDA have also supported the workers. The GEDA 1500 Z/ZP and GEDA 500 Z/ZP transport platforms were used by the various construction workers for their daily work.
The different platform variants of the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP that were used meant that they could be used as effectively as possible on the construction site. Both the B and BS platforms have the same platform size of 1.45 m x 3.3 m, but can transport materials of different weights. The B platform can transport 1500 kg, whereas the BS platform can transport 2000 kg. The different platform designs enable quick and easy loading and unloading of the façade panels or the hospital's thermal insulation. The workers can also be safely transported to their
work site. The GEDA 1500 Z/ZP transport platform has a total of 14 platform variants to choose from. The great advantage is that many platforms can be individually adapted to the construction site with a conversion kit and thus offer more flexibility. The GEDA 1500 Z/ZP transport platform is designed for heights of up to 100 m and masters these with ease.
In addition to the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP transport platform, another transport platform was also used - the GEDA 500 Z/ZP. With a load capacity of 500 kg or 850 kg or 5 persons, the smaller transport platform is in no way inferior to the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP. With a lifting speed of 12 m/min in man mode and 24 m/min in material mode, the GEDA 500 Z/ZP can transport building materials or workers up to a height of 100 m. It was primarily used to transport materials for renovation work. At the hospital, the GEDA 500 Z/ZP was also set up to a conveying height of 40 m.
The GEDA 300 Z was used here to reduce the load during the roof work. Despite the lighter device, the GEDA 300 Z can lift loads of up to 300 kg to a lifting height of 100 m. With a lifting speed of 30 m/min, the material hoist is a fast and reliable helper. At the Prague hospital, the three GEDA 300 Z material hoists, just like the transport platforms, were installed at a height of 40 m to transport various building materials. The Eco floor safety doors ensure the necessary safety on the construction site and make it easy to load and unload materials and tools. The platform, which can be swiveled through 90° on one side, enables flexible working even on construction sites that are difficult to access.
It is precisely this flexibility and ease of work that our customers value most about GEDA equipment.
This also applies to the rental company Boels CZ, which made extensive investments this year and used our GEDA elevators to renovate the Prague hospital. We are excited to see what projects we can realize next together with Boels CZ.
GEDA and Boels CZ have been working together for more than seven years now. With the project at Prague Hospital, we can now look back on another successful construction site and partnership and look forward to the future together with Boels CZ
