Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark undergoes extensive renovation with GEDA elevators
Hillerød, Denmark - The historic Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, Denmark, is undergoing extensive renovation work on its weather side, and two GEDA rack and pinion elevators (GEDA 500 Z/ZP transport platform and GEDA 300 Z material elevator) are being used for this purpose. This construction project, which is expected to take three to four years, is an impressive example of cultural heritage conservation.
About Frederiksborg Castle
Frederiksborg Castle, built in the early 17th century by King Christian IV, is today considered the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia. With its rich architecture and interesting history, the castle stands out as a monument to Denmark's power and cultural heritage. The magnificent rooms and exhibitions within the castle walls house a rich collection of portraits, history paintings, furniture and handicrafts and offer an exciting journey through 500 years of Danish history. The castle has been home to the National History Museum since 1878, making it an important part of Danish cultural history.
Renovation of the castle façade
Renovation of the castle façade: The renovation of the weather side and the renewal of the roof of Frederiksborg Castle are important steps in preserving the historical splendor of this amazing building. A GEDA transport platform, the GEDA 500 Z/ZP, is being used to successfully complete this project. First, however, the GEDA 300 Z material hoist is used. This enables the scaffolding to be erected safely and efficiently. The GEDA 500 Z/ZP transport platform is the right helper for the actual renovation work. Thanks to two separate controls, this device can be used to transport both people and material. The required transport height of 30 meters is no problem for the elevator, as a maximum installation height of 100 meters can be operated.
This impressive refurbishment project is the result of the close and long-standing successful cooperation between GEDA, the leading company in the field of vertical access, and Hejs.dk A/S, a renowned sales and service partner from Denmark. Thanks to the installation of the equipment from Hejs.dk A/S, it has been possible to successfully carry out this important restoration work and preserve the splendor of the castle.
The GEDA 500 Z/ZP can lift 1,000 kg or up to 5 people. The GEDA 300 Z can also cover a maximum lifting height of 100 meters and has a load capacity of 300 kg. Both elevators have impressive lifting speeds that ensure efficient vertical transportation. The safe and efficient transportation of scaffolding material or tools would be unthinkable without this small and flexible helper.
A particular highlight of this project is the installation of the GEDA 500 Z/ZP on a prefabricated platform in the water, which overcomes the challenges of the renovation on the weather side of the castle. Thanks to the innovative distribution of forces, and therefore low anchoring forces, this transport platform can be anchored directly above the scaffolding. This is an enormous advantage, especially for this historic façade. The renovation of Frederiksborg Castle not only represents a significant restoration of a historic landmark, but also underlines the capabilities of modern technology in the construction industry.
