The German construction and industrial lift manufacturer GEDA GmbH also uses its own equipment "Made in Germany" for the new construction of the
administration building. For the safe transport of the crane operator to his workplace, a GEDA 2 PK is used in Asbach-Bäumenheim.

The new GEDA administration building Already on countless international construction sites like the one of an offshore wind farm in France the GEDA 2 PK could convince. Here 16 GEDA 2 PK crane operator elevators from the rental fleet of the partner Uperio were installed to bring the crane operators safely and efficiently to their workplace.
GEDA GmbH is not only represented internationally with its construction and industrial elevators, but also in its home town of Asbach-Bäumenheim. Here, 6,000 m2 of office space will provide workplaces for around 220 of the company's employees and a restaurant open to the public. In the finished administration building, a permanently installed GEDA elevator will connect the floors and become a central component of the new building. Following the topping-out ceremony in April, to mark the completion of the building shell, work continues to progress and the building is scheduled for completion and commissioning in spring 2024.

The GEDA 2 PK at lofty heights
On the construction site, the GEDA 2 PK is used to bring the crane operator safely to his workplace. In some countries, such as the Netherlands, France and parts of Scandinavia, it is already mandatory to provide the crane operator with an aid for climbing to heights above 30 meters. Other countries will follow with such rules and regulations. The GEDA 2 PK offers here the optimal solution. This is also the opinion of the customers, who have been convinced by the GEDA 2 PK for about 25 years due to its flexibility and safety. The special feature of the GEDA crane operator elevator is the compatibility with every brand of crane, which offers an enormous advantage for rental companies. Depending on the customer's needs, the GEDA 2 PK can handle different heights up to
150 meters. On the GEDA construction site the crane operator is brought to a height of about 30 meters before he covers the last meters to the crane operator cabin. Also patented components of the GEDA 2 PK like the patented quick lock of the ladder parts and the integrated patented cable channel make the crane operator elevator special.
With a speed of 24 m/min the elevator reaches its destination quickly and saves laborious climbing. The crane operator is not only five times faster with the GEDA 2 PK and covers the distance in the shortest time, the health of the workers is also spared. For a height of e.g. 60 m the crane operator would need approx. 12,5 minutes without an elevator and would have a high physical strain, whereas with the GEDA 2 PK he is safely and without problems faster at his workplace. This increases the efficiency on the construction site. This advantage can also counteract the shortage of skilled workers, because the simple elevation transport allows workers to do their job longer and also older employees can continue to work in
their profession. Employers who provide such work equipment are much more attractive to applicants and prevail over competitors. Carrying tools or material for service work is also no problem with the crane operator elevator and reduces the risk of injury and falling enormously.
With the GEDA 2 PK not only health but also the necessary safety is taken care of. Once at the top, the 1.1 x 0.6 m lift cage opens and a small ramp with side guards folds open, which, together with the floor safety door on the crane, allow safe crossing. In addition, a speed-dependent safety brake, as well as electrical safety elements, guarantee safety and protect against operating errors. In case of emergency the crane operator elevator can also become a lifesaver, because
with the GEDA 2 PK 2 persons or a maximum of 200 kg can be transported and thus help can be sent upwards. Especially if the crane operator cannot help or free himself, every minute counts here. The GEDA 2 PK can not only save lives, it is also a simpler and more cost-effective protection for emergencies, because in the case of a rescue operation with helicopters, enormous costs are incurred by the employer.
