Topping-out ceremony - GEDA has once again reason to celebrate

The medium-sized company celebrates completion of the shell of the new administration building at its headquarters in Asbach-Bäumenheim.

On June 14, 2022, Johann Sailer broke ground for the new administration building. On April 18, 2023 - barely 10 months later - the topping-out ceremony could already be celebrated.

During a solemn ceremony the topping-out crown was hoisted over the future administration building of GEDA.
Johann Sailer opened the event visibly moved with a few words, which also made the guests smile from time to time. "The so important step into the future is made and I look forward to lead the company in the best way into the next generation" He thanked explicitly the district office, the municipality and the local council for the great cooperation and the constant "open ear". The architect, Mrs. Bettina Kandler, was also thanked for her work. The craftsmen will still be busy for a good year to turn the design of the architect from Donauwörth into reality.

The highlight of the event: The topping-out speech
The traditional topping-out speech came from Mr. Michael Bürle, who acts as structural engineer. Traditionally, wine is drunk for this purpose and the glass is then thrown to the ground, since broken glass is known to bring good luck. This was followed by a short but appropriate speech by the guests of honor, Mr. Stefan Rößle (District Administrator, Donau-Ries) and Mr. Martin Paninka (Mayor, Asbach-Bäumenheim).
Final spurt After the basement excavation was completed, despite the high groundwater level in Asbach-Bäumenheim, the concept became clearer every day as construction progressed.

It will be a cross-shaped building to ensure that it can be seen from every side. Each room will thus be flooded with daylight from all sides, creating an optimal working atmosphere. The different number of floors gives the building a dynamic appearance and the façade, which is mainly made of glass, encloses the 6,000 square meters of office space. In the center of the building will be - how could it be different for an industrial and construction elevator manufacturer - an original GEDA elevator.

Another highlight will be the public restaurant, which is deliberately far away from a "classic" canteen. Here regional and high-quality dishes will be served, from which not only the GEDA employees will benefit. About 220 employees find place in the new building and future workplace models can be flexibly implemented. In the rapid change of today's working world this is indispensable. The administration building is to be groundbreaking in the region in every respect.
The new building will be awarded DGNB Gold status, which is awarded for particularly sustainable construction. Among other things, this is measured on the basis of the life cycle. In addition, heating and cooling will be provided by a heat pump, and a PV system installed on the existing hall roofs to generate electricity is already in operation. A state-of-the-art ventilation system ensures an optimal indoor climate during the working day.
Mayor Martin Paninka is very happy for the company and proud of this impressive project. Another guest of honor, District Administrator Stefan Rößle, who congratulates the company and thanks them for these extensive investments in Asbach-Bäumenheim: "It is not self-evident that companies in today's time, despite rising energy and labor costs continue to invest in Germany. For a company like GEDA with worldwide subsidiaries it would be easy to invest in another country."
In summary it can probably be said that it was exactly the right step for GEDA to build this building now. It is positive that the people of Asbach-Bäumenheim and the entire workforce are behind the project. For the future the company is optimally positioned
and one notices how much "heart blood" is behind it
