Cruise terminal Ostseekai

Successful combination of old and new

Whether it's an award-winning residential complex in Denmark, an extraordinary museum building in France or a water tower in Luxembourg - all over the world, building owners, architects, planners and façade installers choose solutions from SYSTEA. Particularly when it comes to representative buildings, people like to fall back on our high-quality and durable substructure systems. This shows that SYSTEA solutions can be used for all types of building projects, regardless of whether they are commercial, residential or public buildings.

In the northern connection to the existing Ostseekai terminal in the port of Kiel, another terminal was built on an area of 3,700 m². The new cruise terminal is designed together with the existing terminal building as part of an ensemble. The building becomes a reflection of the movements, as the rounded shape of the façade picks up the lines of the visitor flows and the gangways and integrates them into the architecture as integral components.
Characteristics of the façade are large glass surfaces, which provide transparency, as well as curved and invisibly fixed Alucobond cassettes in the attic and in the entrance area. In addition, the suspended ceiling was designed with flat, visibly fastened Alucobond panels.
