When de-energized, the brake is closed and holds loads safely. Only when an electrical voltage is applied does the magnetic field build up, the armature disk is attracted and the braking effect is released. This functional principle ensures maximum safety, especially in the event of a power failure or emergency stop situation.

The acoustic behaviour of the E90R LN has been specifically optimized as part of the current revision. An adapted design of the driver reduces the clearance to the armature plate and thus minimizes vibration and oscillation noises during operation. The result is significantly quieter running behavior, which has a positive effect on the perceived quality and operating comfort of modern machines.
