GEDA supports renovation work at Oslo City Hall

Several GEDA devices support the renovation work on the city hall in the Norwegian capital

The city hall in Oslo, Norway's capital, is currently undergoing extensive renovation work - with the help of several GEDA devices. Two GEDA 300 Z scaffolding elevators and a GEDA Multilift P18 Premium from the Bavarian industrial and construction hoist manufacturer are being used for the work.
Oslo City Hall has great historical significance for the Norwegians and is still the scene of important events today. Every year on December 10, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded there. It also represents Norway's independence from Sweden. The town hall was inaugurated in 1950 after a number of delays due to the two world wars and is today best known for its impressive interior and the carillon.
In recent years, the effects of the weather, salt water and other conditions have meant that the town hall now needs to be renovated. The first step was to install the scaffolding on the east tower using the GEDA 300 Z scaffolding elevators. Everything was then dismantled on the east tower and reassembled on the west tower in order to continue with the renovation work there. The decision to use elevators from GEDA was made partly due to the lifting height and speed. Both towers are approx. 65 m high and can be easily accessed with the devices.

GEDA 300 Z & Multilift P18 Premium
Two GEDA 300 Z scaffolding elevators provided active support for the renovation work on Oslo City Hall. The two units were used exclusively for the installation of the scaffolding, while the GEDA Multilift P18 Premium was then used to transport the workers and materials.
The GEDA 300 Z is a compact and robust elevator that can be set up by just one person. The platform measures 1.4 m x 0.8 m and can transport material weighing up to 300 kg to the site. The scaffolding elevator's 90 degree swivel cage ensures safe passage and easy loading and unloading. The scaffolding contractor Oslo Stillas Utleie A/S, which is responsible for the work on the town hall, opted for the 400 V version of the GEDA 300 Z because of its speed and lifting height, among other things.
The selected scaffolding elevator can handle a lifting height of 100 m at a speed of 30 m/min. Once the scaffolding had been erected with the help of the two GEDA 300 Z material hoists, the GEDA Multilift P18 Premium was installed there to continue the work and transport the workers and their materials to the site.
The GEDA Multilift P18 Premium can also travel up to a height of 100 m at a maximum speed of 40 m/min. With its size of 3.7 m x 1.4 m, platform E of the passenger and material elevator can transport either up to 25 people or 2000 kg. At Oslo City Hall, it travels to 30 floors, which are secured with the GEDA Comfort landing door and ensure safe access to the building.
In this project, the fact that the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP used in previous projects already had the same masts as the GEDA Multilift P18 Premium was a huge advantage for the customer. Both devices use the GEDA Uni X masts, low anchoring forces and are easy to set up due to the use of the same components.
