norelem is expanding its range of lockable products. The new elements are designed to prevent unauthorized and unintentional opening or closing of connections, thus making the production environment safer. The mode of operation is simple but effective, as shown, for example, by the lockable ball lock pins and five-star handles.


Mode of operation of the lockable ball lock pins

Ball lock pins can be used to fix and connect components quickly and easily. The lockable version prevents unauthorized loosening of the connection. By opening the push cylinder lock with a key, the two balls can be unlocked and the parts to be connected can be unplugged. If the push cylinder lock is pushed in manually, the balls securely lock the connection. The balls can only be unlocked again with the key.

The norelem lockable ball lock pins are available with a recessed grip as a full stainless steel version and as a form with an additional recessed grip. The products are also available with a mushroom or T-handle made of thermoplastic. The bolts are available in diameters from 5 - 16 mm and lengths from 10 - 80 mm.



Functionality of the lockable five-star handles

The norelem lockable five-star handles prevent unauthorized loosening of the bolting. The products are used, among other things, in equipment manufacturing, the packaging industry, special machine and tool construction, and the camping industry. For example, the handles can be used to secure sand plates on off-road motor homes or bicycle racks on cars.

The handles are made of thermoplastic, the steel parts are blue passivated and the locking cylinders are made of die-cast zinc. a positive connection between the handle and the threaded part is made or broken via this locking cylinder. If there is no positive connection, the handle turns without driving the threaded part. Unauthorized opening of the threaded connection is thus prevented. The key can be removed in both positions (open and closed). The lockable five-star handles are available with internal and external threads in sizes M8 and M10, and size M6 as a variant with internal thread. The external threads are each 20 mm long. Special variants with different locks or other thread variants can also be produced on request.


Both the ball lock pins and the five-star handles are supplied with two keys each. Since the lockable five-star handles are keyed alike in the standard variant, several handles can be opened or closed with one key, which simplifies daily handling.


Other lockable products in the norelem range include rotary latches. They can be used, for example, to secure control cabinets against unauthorized opening.
