After implementation of a quality management system

BLOHM receives DIN ISO 9001:2015 certification

The NORMTEILWERK ROBERT BLOHM has achieved the initial certification according to the latest standards for quality management DIN ISO 9001:2015 in December 2022. The company convinced not only by a pragmatic introduction, but also by a consistent implementation of the QM (quality management) system. The good working atmosphere and the motivation of the employees also stood out positively.

"The QM system of BLOHM is not only alive - it is also lived by the employees" - this statement was made by the auditor during the final interview. A praise that particularly pleases the Quality Management Representative (QMB) of BLOHM, Jochen Herre: "It shows that we did everything right in the run-up to the certification. We want to ensure quality in all processes - this only works if the entire team goes along with it."

Customers benefit from the quality-assuring measures, for example, through fast quotation preparation and order processing, because efficiency has been significantly increased in production as well as in warehousing and shipping.

To achieve this, various quality-assuring processes have been introduced - among them are additional inspections in production. In addition, BLOHM has introduced a complaints processing system based on 8D logic and improved the labeling and traceability of products. In purchasing, a supplier evaluation shows measurable key figures of the suppliers, while training plans ensure continuous education of the employees. "Overall, all processes now have defined structures, greater process stability, and increased quality assurance measures - all the way from order placement to delivery," says Jochen Herre. "This enables us to further improve customer satisfaction."

In order to further optimize quality management in the medium and long term, the CIP (continuous improvement process) concept is manifested in BLOHM's QM system: All processes are regularly put to the test and adjusted if necessary. This is done according to the PDCA principle (Plan, Do, Check, Act).
