At the trade fair in Nuremberg, drive specialist maxon is launching five new products, all of which
are particularly resource-saving and compact: these include the
ECX SPEED 8 motors with pin connection and the integrated ENX 32 MILE encoder for
drives of the ECX flat motor series with a diameter of 32mm as well as the powerful
industrial drives IDX 56 and 70. This means that several technical solutions are available at once for
particularly tight spaces.

ECX SPEED 8 motors with pin connection

The ECX Speed 8 motors are now also available with a pin connection for space-saving applications. The new connection variant can now be configured for all ECX Speed 8 models in the online store. Pin connections are made for the installation of drives in compact devices or systems where little space is available or uncomplicated cleaning must be possible. Typically, the pin variant is used in medical technology, for example in surgical robotics, hand prostheses and implants.

ENX 32 MILE encoder for the smallest drives

With the new ENX 32 MILE encoder, maxon is expanding the ECX FLAT 32 flat motor series. The inductive encoder is integrated in the motor and thus enables an extremely short drive unit. The ENX 32 MILE is currently the smallest MILE encoder and offers impressive resolution and high accuracy. The encoder with inverse signals is also resistant to magnetic and electric fields as well as dirt.
The ENX 32 MILE will be available in the online store from April 2023. Samples can already be ordered from mid-November 2022.

MicroMACS6 multi-axis controller

Another innovation is the ultra-compact MicroMACS6. The programmable motion controller understands how to synchronize multiple axes in real time. This master controller is available for the first time with an optional Bluetooth service and support interface. The MicroMACS6 has no output stages and autonomously controls up to six axes. The controller has two independent CAN interfaces as well as an Ethernet and a USB interface. The MicroMACS6 is ideal for device manufacturing and can be perfectly combined with ESCON and EPOS output stages.

IDX 56 and IDX 70

Another milestone in torques is the powerful combination of the IDX 56 industrial drive with the GB 28 worm gear unit from Parvalux, which can easily achieve up to 8 Newton meters in peak form. The new IDX 70 with the configurable GPX 70 Planet gearbox is even more powerful. The peak value here is 87.5 Newston meters.

EC frameless DT product family

With two new EC frameless motors DT85 M and L, what some customers are already observing is beginning to take shape, namely a new product range that covers the various size and strength requirements.
Based on the already successful EC frameless DT50 motor, the new motor size specifically covers the applications where the highest torque requirements are needed. The EC frameless DT motor series has minimal rotor inertia, best thermal coupling, is very compact and can be integrated very easily. Functionally, all motors from this product family are perfectly matched. In addition, this motor also makes large hollow shafts possible, which are used for power supply or signal lines. The DT85 will be available in sizes M and L from the beginning of 2023 and, as with the DT50, a TSX MAG encoder solution will also be offered.
