MC4-Evo stor: High-quality DC connector for battery energy storage systems (BESS)

The market-leading MC4 portfolio of Stäubli PV connectors now includes a DC connection solution for battery energy storage systems called MC4-Evo stor.

The new MC4-Evo stor for the connection of battery energy storage systems (BESS) completes the MC4-Evo 2 product line as an important extension of the portfolio for DC 1500 V.

This pluggable connection between inverter and storage system ensures easy installation and guarantees the well-known, durable, long-lasting and low-loss connection quality as the original MC4 and MC4-Evo 2 DC cable couplings in the PV string. In addition to the proven MULTILAM contact technology, this energy storage connection solution from Stäubli features a 45° rotated mating face to ensure fail-safe installation. It is not possible to connect the MC4-Evo stor to an MC4 or MC4-Evo 2 cable coupling as used in the PV string or at the battery output on the DC side of the inverter.

Like all of Stäubli's original MC4 connectors, this connection solution for BESS, the MC4-Evo stor, meets the requirements of IP68 protection class, making it an extremely robust product that ensures reliable and long-lasting operation even under harsh application conditions.

The new MC4-Evo stor connector solution includes a cable coupling and a surface-mount receptacle, each mounted on the inverter and the battery storage unit. The quality and performance of the product are confirmed by the TÜV and UL certificates.
