About igus® GmbH
The story of igus® begins on 15th October 1964 with Günter Blase in a double garage in Cologne-Mülheim. For the first twenty years, we worked as a supplier of complex technical polymer components. In 1983 Frank Blase starts our own product lines Energy Chain Systems® and polymer bearings as well as a network of sales engineers. Between 1985 and 2014, we grew from 40 to more than 2400 igus® employees, distributed the world over. We will continue to invest in expansion for the coming years. The opportunities are there thanks to modern materials!
chainflex® are cables specifically tested for energy chains. chainflex® cables are available with smallest bending radii and in various jacket materials.
iglidur® materials for technical bar stock are available as round materials from stock, or as fully machined custom shapes. They are cost-effective, wear-resistant, and have good moisture absorption p...
The benefits of drylin® linear bearings include: self-lubricating, maintenance-free, for use in extremely dirty environment, and compensation of alignment errors.
igus® e-chainsystems® are designed to guide and protect. Energy chains or cable chains are the umbilical cords of modern machinery. They reduce downtimes and extend service lives.
chainflex® fibre-optic cables have a transmission range up to 500m and can be harnessed to custom lengths. In addition, the highly-flexible cables are highly wear-resistant, suitable for industrial us...
chainflex® control cables are cables for smallest bending radii. A combination of these different properties is possible as both shielded and unshielded control cables.
drylin® is a range of maintenance-free and lubricant-free linear plain bearings in four different main categories. In addition to zero maintenance, the main features include ruggedness and resistance...
xiros® polymer ball bearings are single-row grooved ball bearings based on DIN 625. In contrast to metallic ball bearings, plastic ball bearings operate entirely without lubrication.
Based on the results of several thousands of empirical tests, we can now provide reliable details regarding the service life of iglidur® plain bearings in almost all cases.
drylin® R linear plain bearings with liners are based on extremely wear-resistant polymers specifically developed for linear technology. The dimensions are compatible with standard ball bearings.
