Features of the rotary lobe pump

The rotary lobe pump is a self-priming positive displacement pump. This pump technology is available in numerous different versions. But they all have the following characteristics in common:

• They are compact in design, with the suction and discharge openings on one line.
• Rotary lobe pumps have a high efficiency compared to other pump types. They do not consume so much energy and are therefore cheaper to operate.
• The pumped medium can have both a high and a low viscosity.
• The symmetrical design of these pumps makes it possible to reverse the direction of rotation and thus the delivery direction.
• Rotary lobe pumps operate reliably even with fluctuating solids content in the pumped medium.

The compressed air diaphragm pump

The compressed air diaphragm pump is the only positive displacement pump in which the delivery volume can be adjusted very precisely by throttling the compressed air. However, these pumps are not suitable for some applications, as strong pressure fluctuations occur briefly when the pumping volume changes. The compressed air diaphragm pump also requires a lot of energy, as the compressed air requirement corresponds to the delivery volume.

Centrifugal pumps are offered in an almost unmanageable variety of sizes and designs. One variant is the small centrifugal pump. It is used, for example, for circulating, conveying or dosing lyes, acids, salt solutions or water. Since these pumps often have to withstand aggressive fluids, they are often designed as stainless steel pumps. They have a compact design and are inexpensive to purchase. In operation they are safe, quiet and low-maintenance.

The pressure booster system

A pressure boosting system is one or more automatically controlled pumps which increase the supply pressure in the water supply. In buildings, they serve to ensure sufficient water pressure on all floors. They can also be found in large plants, such as the waterworks of municipalities. Pressure boosting systems are used there if there are very large differences in altitude in the area of water supply.
