The surface quality and the effectiveness of coatings or treatments of metal sheets, e.g. to make them weldable, can be determined with the MRP29HY resistance measuring system.

The MRP29HY measuring system consists of a high-precision micro-ohmmeter and a hydraulic press, which is operated according to the DVS2929 method proposed by the 'DEUTSCHEN VERBANDES FÜR SCHWEISSTECHNIK e.V.'.

The contact or surface resistance of one or two overlapping sheets of aluminium or steel is determined. Other materials are of course also possible.
