Rotary encoders are used wherever lengths, positions, speeds and angles need to be measured. They convert mechanical movements into electrical signals. There are differences in the operating principles of the encoders. They can therefore be divided into incremental and absolute versions. Basically, we offer all encoders in both shaft and hollow shaft versions.
The use of hollow shaft encoders saves up to 30% costs and up to 50% installation space compared to shaft versions. This is made possible by the fact that additional couplings, mounting devices and other fastening aids can be dispensed with. To mount a hollow shaft encoder, it is simply pushed onto the drive shaft, clamped and, in the simplest case, secured against rotation by a straight pin. In addition, hollow shaft encoders generally require a smaller installation depth.
