The mode of action of flow sensors is based on the calorimetric principle. The sensing head is heated by several degrees Celsius above the medium. With the passing medium heat is dissipated. The temperature difference between the medium and the sensor is a measure for the occurring flow state. With the potentiometer of the amplifier a very specific flow state can be assigned to a corresponding switching signal by the internal relay.
