Thin section bearings (LSA) by Franke GmbH
Type LSA 2-ring bearing / profiled raceway
Type LSA thin-section bearings each consist of an inner and outer raceway with a hardened and profiled raceway and a plastic cage with retained balls. The rolling elements are in contact with the races at two points each, thus maintaining the 4-point system. The races are split and can therefore be elastically adjusted in diameter for installation.
Type LSB metal sleeve / ground raceway
Type LSB thin-section bearings consist of two inner and two outer races with a ground raceway, a plastic cage with retained balls and an enclosing metal sleeve. Sleeves and races are split and can therefore be elastically adjusted in diameter for installation. In contrast to conventional thin-section bearings, Franke thin-section bearings of type LSB can be adjusted with regard to clearance/preload.
Vibrations occur during the winding process in automatically changing winding machines. It is necessary for the rolling bearing used to compensate for the vibrations as far as possible. The installation space for the bearing within the drum has a compact design.
A customized thin-section bearing
A defined preload is generated by adjusting the races. This compensates for vibrations and ensures a perfect coil structure.
