Precision threaded spindles by Burgsmüller GmbH

As an expert for screw elements, whirling and threading technology, we rely on the whirling process for the production of extruder screws and the like with the help of machines developed by us. Here you will find the most important information about whirling.

In this type of workpiece production, a distinction is made between the machining of internal and external contours. External whirling can be used to produce components with helical geometry, e.g. precision threaded spindles, modular screws, extruder screws, screw elements as well as screw compressor rotors. Multiple threads can be produced either by the pitch process or by whirling.

Whirled precision leadscrews offer much higher accuracy than rolled leadscrews, with pitch accuracies of 0.03 mm over 300 mm being achieved (material dependent).
