The Eppendorf epT.I.P.S.® BioBased in volumes of up to 1,250 µL open new doors to make laboratory work much more sustainable without compromising experimental results. By using second-generation bio-based polymer made from at least 90% renewable raw materials (e.g. waste and residues from vegetable oil refining or waste cooking oil), the product-related carbon footprint of these pipette tips and filter pipette tips has been significantly reduced. "General Quality Certificates" on compliance with standards and general quality requirements, product-specific and batch-specific purity certificates, and "ACT Certificates" (independent certification on environmental impact from My Green Lab) confirm the well-known product quality you can expect from Eppendorf pipette tips. Added to this is a sustainability factor that will translate into a significantly reduced carbon footprint for your lab when using these pipette tips and filter pipette tips on a regular basis.

The epT.I.P.S.® BioBased pipette tips, ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S.® BioBased- and ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S.® SealMax® BioBased filter pipette tips require less force to attach and eject, while sealing completely and perfectly complementing your Eppendorf pipettes, with which they form a fully integrated pipetting system offering maximum precision, accuracy and reproducibility. They optimally complement your workflow. In addition, they support you in making your laboratory significantly more environmentally friendly.
Since consumables made of glass were displaced by petroleum-based plastic consumables, they have become irreplaceable in laboratories worldwide: They provide the quality standards needed in increasingly demanding research. Therein lies the growing challenge in terms of sustainability. That is why Eppendorf is focusing not only on the development of new products, but also on new, more environmentally friendly materials. We even succeeded in finding a polypropylene based on renewable raw materials, which we are now using to manufacture a new generation of pipette tips.

The bio-based pipette tips are not only made from more sustainable starting material, they are now also available in a reload variant that meets the same purity and sterility requirements as conventional disposable racks. This reload variant saves up to 54% of fossil plastic compared to conventional racks and significantly reduces the amount of laboratory waste. The new reloads fit perfectly into the well-known epT.I.P.S.® Box 2.0.

Thus, both points - biobased raw material for the pipette tips and significantly reduced use of plastic for the reloads - contribute to an improved carbon footprint of the laboratory and to the reduction of laboratory waste.
