Neodymium magnets have the highest energy content of all permanent magnets. The neodymium magnet is made up of the element that gives it its name as well as iron and boron. These three basic materials are combined with a few additives to form an alloy. The resulting power packs are usually manufactured in ring, block or segment form, which is why neodymium magnets are also known as ring magnets or disc magnets. They are very versatile and are used in electric, servo and DC motors, generally in actuators and even in sensor technology.
