The company is investing EUR 40 million in the site, with production of initial products expected to begin in 2028.
"Today's signing marks a significant next step for the Eppendorf Group," said Dr. Christine Munz, CEO of the Eppendorf Group. "For more than 30 years, Malaysia has been an important part of Eppendorf's history in the Asia-Pacific region. With the planned new production site in Penang, we are strategically expanding our global manufacturing network and creating a high-performance production platform in Southeast Asia that will sustainably support Eppendorf's long-term growth."
The new facility will manufacture selected products from Eppendorf's Centrifuges & Instruments portfolio. Eppendorf expects the site to employ around 130 people by the end of 2029.
