VAHLE presents contactless energy transmission for AGVs at LogiMAT

Live demonstration of contactless powered AGVs in operation, selective energy supply via battery charging contacts at the VAHLE stand in Hall 1, Stand C31.

VAHLE will be presenting its latest solutions for intralogistics at LogiMAT from 24 to 26 March in Stuttgart. The focus is on a flexible scenario for automated guided vehicles (AGVs), which demonstrates how autonomous conveyor and transport systems can either be supplied with energy inductively along the route or alternatively charged at specific points via conventional battery charging contacts.

"With our CPS140 energy transfer system, we offer a compact, inductive solution that works completely without mechanical contact surfaces and supplies driverless transport systems with power reliably and without wear. The concept can also be transferred to linear applications such as sorting or packaging systems," says Dimitri Petker, Director Business Unit Intralogistics at VAHLE.

At LogiMAT, the Kamen-based company will be demonstrating in an AGV scenario how charging processes can be seamlessly integrated into the material flow. During the journey, the energy supply is continuous and contactless via the CPS140 primary track. In addition, the international system provider for mobile industrial applications will be presenting localised battery charging contacts, which are used where it is not possible to install the primary conductor along the route or where AGVs do not run in 24/7 operation. "This allows vehicles to be charged cost-effectively at defined points," emphasises Petker.

The CPS140 contactless power transmission system is designed to supply mobile applications with power permanently and wear-free. Thanks to its compact, modular design, the technology enables demand-orientated energy supply in real time and can be flexibly adapted to different vehicle types and transport routes. "With its high power density, variable pick-up configuration and minimal installation effort, the solution is particularly suitable for heterogeneous vehicle fleets and linear conveyor applications. This allows us to address the key challenges of modern intralogistics processes: high dynamics, minimal downtimes and limited installation space," explains Petker.

VAHLE will also be presenting its comprehensive intralogistics service portfolio at LogiMAT. The range supports operators in sustainably increasing the performance, availability and efficiency of their plants and automated systems.

"Increasing service level requirements and limited hall space call for solutions that intelligently network energy supply, communication, positioning and control. Our system approach therefore integrates all relevant functional areas of the intralogistics value chain," says Petker. VAHLE is thus positioning itself as a full-service provider for complete intralogistics systems and will be demonstrating at LogiMAT how scalable, contactless energy transmission solutions can decisively advance the automation of modern production and distribution environments.

VAHLE invites all interested parties to discover the latest solutions and innovations live at LogiMAT in Hall 1, Stand C31. "Our experts will be on hand to demonstrate how we can design future-proof intralogistics solutions and optimise processes efficiently," concludes Petker.
