With the "Buchner Haus", one of Passau's most famous buildings is being given a new lease of life. Built in 1877, the yellow corner building on Ludwigsplatz shaped the cityscape of the Three Rivers City for decades. Due to its dilapidated condition, the building was demolished in 2023. A new mixed-use building, architecturally inspired by its historical predecessor, has now been built on the same site.

Bulky drywall, bathroom and kitchen sinks and pallets of bricks weighing several tons - all of these materials "floated" safely, cleanly and almost effortlessly floor by floor up to the fifth floor during the construction phase. The GEDA 1500 Z/ZP transport platform proved to be an indispensable helper in the final phase of the new building in Passau city center.

Already during the shell construction phase, the construction company decided to use a height access from GEDA. Thanks to the long-standing partnership with the Beutlhauser Group, planning, delivery and assembly could be realized from a single source. The expertise of the GEDA partner was particularly evident during installation: due to the inner-city construction site situation, existing scaffolding had to be bridged. In order to securely fasten the elevator, the mast brackets were anchored directly into the concrete wall. Three-metre-long scaffolding poles were used to ensure a stable and reliable connection. Despite these challenging conditions, the entire installation was completed within one day.

Although a building elevator is installed in the building, it cannot replace the performance of a transport platform. With a load capacity of up to 2,000 kg and the spacious BS platform measuring 1.45 m x 3.30 m, the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP is ideal for transporting heavy and bulky materials. At the same time, the device is not designed exclusively for transporting materials, but is also approved for the safe transportation of people. This elevator can operate at heights of up to 100 meters. the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP supported the construction work over a total period of nine months.

The GEDA 1500 Z/ZP has two separate controls and can be used both as a pure material elevator and as a transport platform for people and material. In transport platform mode, the device reaches a speed of 12 m/min, while a lifting speed of 24 m/min is possible in material hoist mode.

One device - numerous applications: Thanks to the 14 different platform variants with different load capacities and platform dimensions, the double-mast transport platform can be flexibly adapted to almost any construction site situation. The spacious load platforms offer sufficient space - even for particularly heavy and bulky building materials. The proven GEDA UNI-X-MAST system guarantees a stable and smooth ride even with high load capacities.
