Self-locking clamping spindle with high clamping forces

Small workpieces up to a size of around 50 cm are usually clamped mechanically and manually with a three- or four-jaw chuck or automatically using pneumatics or hydraulics. For larger workpieces, however, face plates are used. These hold the parts securely in place using claw boxes and clamping spindles. There is a choice of 7 standard thread sizes from TR 50 to TR 200, which can generate clamping forces of up to 500 kN thanks to the proven wedge clamping system. This ensures self-locking in every clamping position as well as high rigidity. The power clamping spindles have an internal automatic switchover to change between external and internal clamping. The MSP/MSPD power clamping spindles from JAKOB Antriebstechnik offer high clamping forces, a large clamping stroke and are easy to operate and install, ensuring maximum operational safety.

To ensure this safety in the long term, JAKOB recommends (depending on the frequency of use) that the clamping spindles are checked regularly once or twice a year. This is particularly easy to do with JAKOB force measurement systems such as the HMD hydraulic, self-contained force transducer. If the clamping forces deviate from the specified target values by around 25% to 30%, an overhaul is advisable. This maintenance work can be carried out directly by JAKOB. Alternatively, JAKOB also offers training courses to certify employees as operating or maintenance personnel, so that assembly and maintenance can be carried out in-house in the future, saving time and money.
