What could be nicer, commercially or privately, than grinding whole roasted coffee beans and moments later delighting the senses of smell and taste? The answer is to indulge the sense of hearing at the same time. At least that's what Mauro Bellissimo from Leverkusen thought. And the IT specialist immediately had an idea of how he could reduce the operating noise and vibrations caused by the grinder of his portafilter machine to a minimum. After all, he works at ACE Stoßdämpfer GmbH in Langenfeld. The company, which is part of the Stabilus Group, has been offering innovative and intelligent solutions in the field of vibration control technology for more than 10 years in order to decouple vibrations from a wide variety of constructions and effectively reduce vibrations down to a range that can only be determined by measuring devices.

When, during a coffee break, he asked his colleague Niklas Backhausen, one of ACE's vibration technology experts from the Development and Innovation department, for advice on decoupling vibrations at home, he advised him ad hoc to use bubble mounts. These low-frequency rubber-metal isolators, which belong to the family of vibration dampers, can be integrated quickly, easily and cost-effectively into any new or existing construction. They have a natural frequency of between 8 Hz and 16 Hz and can withstand loads of between 0.7 kg and 8.2 kg per machine base, depending on the type.
