Dunkermotoren presents the new dSafe product line

New standards for integrated functional safety in drive systems

With the introduction of the new dSafe product line, Dunkermotoren is setting a milestone in the
the development of safe, intelligent drive solutions. The new high-end
Motor control platform expands the existing portfolio (dGo, dMove, dPro) with
comprehensive safety functions such as safe communication and safe motion profiles (safe
motion), which are fully integrated into the BG75 & BG95 series motors.

Maximum safety - minimum effort
dSafe complies with international safety standards such as IEC 61800, IEC 13849, IEC 62061 and
IEC 61508 and offers functions such as Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop (SS1), Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Brake
Speed (SLS), Safe Brake Control (SBC) and Safe Communication (FSoE, PROFIsafe). This
Integration not only reduces hardware costs, but also considerably simplifies the safety
Safety assessment for machine builders.

Versatile areas of application
DSafe technology is ideal for applications in industrial automation,
Robotics, warehouse logistics, access systems and packaging machines. Especially in mobile
Robots (AGVs/AMRs) in particular, dSafe enables flexible, online configurable instances with
multiple safety limits - for example to safeguard driving functions, lifting mechanisms or grippers
or grippers. The "Safe Limited Speed" (SLS) function enables automatic speed monitoring
monitoring of the speed. If the defined maximum speed is exceeded and there are people or obstacles in the vicinity, the drive can be stopped torque-free via STO (Safe (Safe Torque Off), the drive can be switched torque-free - a significant contribution to functional safety

Safety in collaborative operation.
DSafe also offers clear advantages in stationary industrial applications: In set-up mode
reduced speeds can be monitored with SLS in order to carry out maintenance or set-up processes safely Set-up processes can be carried out safely. In addition, with "Safe Limited Position" (SLP)
defined safety zones can be set up that specifically restrict the movement range of axes or tools
Of axes or tools.

Another plus point: the hard wiring of the Safe Torque Off (STO) can be omitted as
the switch-off takes place safely via the fieldbus - e.g. FSoE. This saves Wiring effort, increases flexibility in the machine layout and simplifies integration into modern Integration into modern control architectures.

Economic benefits for customers
The integration of the safety functions directly into the motor results in significant
Savings potential:
  • less engineering effort
  • reduced cabling
  • shorter commissioning times
  • lower hardware costs
  • lower total cost of ownership (TCO)

Future-proof and modular
Thanks to the support of EtherCAT/FSoE and PROFINET/PROFIsafe, dSafe is ideal for an efficient safety architecture an efficient safety architecture. The solution is scalable, future-proof and offers maximum highest performance for demanding applications.
