On the road with a BG 75 on the racetracks of this world

Dunkermotoren, an AMETEK brand, is proud to power the Milhagem Team race car from the University of Minas Gerais with its brushless DC motor

Last year, the Milhagem team from the University of Minas Gerais won the Brazilian edition of the Shell Eco-Marathon in Rio de Janeiro. They competed there with a newly developed racing car powered by a BG 75 brushless Dunkermotor. With an incredible performance of 367 km/kW, the Milhagem team was able to prevail against the international teams and win the championship.

This year, on April 3-7, 2024, the team took part in the American edition of the Shell Eco-marathon with last year's winning vehicle and competed with 28 teams from five countries at the legendary Indianapolis Speedway. Of all the participants, the Milhagem team was the first to pass Shell's rigorous technical inspection. This allowed the students to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to developing a safe, agile and efficient prototype. On the race track, the team achieved a top score of 188 km/kWh, which earned them a solid 15th place.
