KARL MAYER launches the new MT 84/1/40 S, a TEXTRONIC® lace with drop stitch and stitch-forming jacquard bars
KARL MAYER launches a new TEXTRONIC® Lace for the production of delicate lace items with a unique high-contrast fabric pattern. The products of the newcomer - the MT 84/1/40 S - feature an exceptionally light, transparent fabric base on which the filigree pattern with plastic flossing stands out strikingly. This play on contrasts sets new standards in the lace sector.
"Never before have we come so close to the quality of 12-point Leavers lace," says KARL MAYER lace expert Jamie Heather.
An unusual configuration ensures high fidelity to the gold standard. Unique for a TEXTRONIC® lace model is the configuration with a stitch-forming jacquard bar combined with two basic lace bars at the back.
High-contrast lace with a multi-layered pattern
The stitch-forming jacquard bar in a split design means that spotnet backings can be produced without a fringe, making them lighter than before. Tests on this at KARL MAYER have shown promising results. If the fringe is required to stabilize the structure, thinner yarn can be used to avoid reducing the fabric weight. Internal tests were also carried out with excellent results. Thread material with a fineness of 22 dtex was used in the fringe area and also only 22 dtex in the stitch-forming jacquard dividing bars.
The drop stitch plate in combination with 80 pattern guide bars, 24 more than on the previous lace machines with stitch-forming jacquard bars, ensures a high-contrast and at the same time sophisticated pattern on the light background. The MT 84/1/40 S products therefore offer everything that makes a typical 12-point Leavers lace: a fine ground in spotnet style, three-dimensional flossing and, above all, a complex pattern.
Launch in November 2023
The new MT 84/1/40 S will be available in gauges E 24 and E 28 and with a working width of 134″. The official planned launch is a product show that will take place at KARL MAYER (CHINA) in Changzhou City parallel to ITMA ASIA, i.e. from November 19 to 23. Interested parties can experience the MT 84/1/40 S in live operation here. Registration is required to plan the visit and transfer from the trade fair.
