Taking off with more speed and flexibility in the jersey machine sector

KARL MAYER supports its jersey customers with brand new models in a market environment full of challenges

High-tech solutions can give you an edge over the competition, especially in times of economic downturn. The KARL MAYER GROUP will be demonstrating what pioneering technologies for warp knitting look like at a product show during ITMA ASIA from November 19 to 23, 2023 at its site in Changzhou City.

The machines in the performance presentations are just as diverse as the visitors they are aimed at, but they all have one goal: to provide answers to the challenges of our time. The innovations are primarily about sustainability, new business areas, flexibility and productivity.

"Our entire product range demonstrates strength in the field of jersey machines. We are launching two performance-optimized mid-range models in Changzhou City. We are also presenting established products with a focus on performance, which should be of great interest to our guests," says Kay Hilbert. Product Owner Global Jersey Machines at KARL MAYER and his team are expecting guests from China, Turkey and India in particular.

The most flexible and fastest four-bar TM model on the market

In the four-bar machine segment, a new TM 4 EL replaces the previous mid-range alternative to the HKS 4-M ON for the premium segment. The newcomer has been equipped with CFRP technology from KARL MAYER, making it up to 30% faster than its predecessor. The product portfolio is also right. The TM 4 EL produces the majority of all common items - from elastic to non-elastic - and offers maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications thanks to the EL pattern gear. The product range includes fabrics for upholstery, sportswear, shoes, car and home interiors and clothing. Chic seersucker items in particular are bringing the model with its excellent price-performance ratio into the focus of trend-conscious fashion manufacturers. At the product show at KARL MAYER (CHINA), a TM 4 EL, 210″, will be on display in E 28.

Three-barHKS with new energy feature for the cost-conscious and environmentally aware

The show of three-bar tricot machines includes an HKS 3-M ON, 300″, with a feature on energy saving that already caused a stir at ITMA 2023 in Milan. With the new Energy Data Ready option, the power consumption of the knitting machines can be determined and monitored. The ENERGY MONITORING SYSTEM software, which is scheduled to go into series production at the beginning of next year, uses the potential offered by real-time energy data to optimize energy management. The advantage for customers is a unique transparency of energy consumption, CO2 footprint and costs. Cost calculations and the identification of consumption can also be used to optimize the energy efficiency of production. A prototype of the solution will be presented at KARL MAYER (CHINA) in November.

High-speed machine for net articles

The range of two-bar jersey models is growing with the new TM 2-NET. The highly productive, economical machine focuses on demanding net applications and is around 20 % faster than its latest generation TM 2 counterpart. The newcomer also performs significantly better than equivalent machines on the market, particularly when comparing the output of fine tulle items. Other advantages include top product quality and extremely stable machine operation.

Two-bar HKS with bestseller qualities

The HKS 2-SE, which will also be presented in Changzhou City, is not a premiere model, but a bestseller. This year, the special machine for the production of elastic fabrics was ordered primarily in China for the production of supple, lightweight articles for sun protection clothing. The fabrics impress with their high quality and can be produced extremely efficiently. A speed of 4,400 rpm makes the HKS 2-SE the machine of choice when it comes to the production of high-quality clothing, sportswear and lingerie items. At KARL MAYER (CHINA), an HKS 2-SE, 134″, in E 40 will be on show. The high degree of fineness is particularly in demand in the Chinese market, but is only offered by KARL MAYER in conjunction with the extraordinary machine performance.

Digital game changer solutions for production management

Further highlights of the product show come from the area of digital solutions. KM.ON, the digital company of the KARL MAYER GROUP, will be presenting Digital Production Management (DPM) and CORE.

DPM offers transparency in production and uses the possibilities of the Internet of Things (IoT) and advanced analyses for this purpose. Production managers receive production-specific key figures in real time. Insights into factory operations can be used to identify patterns - such as the occurrence of recurring errors in machine operation - optimally allocate resources and make data-driven decisions to increase efficiency. Real-time monitoring and analysis go hand in hand with the DPM's potential to control operations. From creating items and work orders to simplifying production planning, the DPM centralizes and optimizes every aspect of the production process.

CORE is a web-based design tool. It includes a versatile layout editor for knitting machines and ensures direct and reliable transfer of pattern data to the machine, which is connected to KM.ON's secure cloud - from anywhere and at any time. CORE thus helps to shorten time-to-market.
