The thicknessSENSOR is used for precise thickness measurement of narrow strip and sheet materials such as metal or plastic. The new thicknessSENSOR ILD1420LL model now enables even more precise measurements on metallic surfaces. This is due to the small, oval measuring spot used by the sensors. This compensates for structures and rough surfaces, allowing the sensors to deliver much higher accuracy.
Two laser triangulation sensors are integrated in the sensor system, which measure against the object from both sides. The integrated evaluation unit calculates the thickness values, which are output analog as a voltage or current output or digitally via Ethernet. Thanks to the compact design, integration into confined installation spaces is also possible. The ready-to-use design enables simple and fast commissioning.
Another advantage is the operation via an intuitive web interface. Individual presets can be loaded for the respective measurement task. Up to eight user-specific settings can be saved and exported in the setup management. The system impresses with its cost efficiency and can be used as a data source for documentation purposes as well as for inline monitoring tasks. This results in high-performance automation of production.
