New approvals for butterfly valves

GEMÜ R480 Victoria NSF and DVGW certified

The GEMÜ R480, R481, R487 and R488 butterfly valves now have NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and DVGW approval. Both certifications attest that the products of the Ingelfingen-based valve specialist GEMÜ are suitable for use in drinking water applications.

For the GEMÜ R480, R481, R487 and R488 Victoria butterfly valves for drinking water applications, a choice can be made between the American NSF approval with the special function "N" and the European DVGW approval with the special function "D".

In addition, the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification is valid for all products that can be supplied with the sleeve code W in combination with stainless steel discs code A, B and D.

DVGW certification is valid for all products with sleeve code W in combination with stainless steel discs code A, B and special function "D".

The recipe of the seal in GEMÜ 480 and GEMÜ R480 has been tested in accordance with the old elastomer guideline and the new guideline of the KTW-BWGL. With the publication of the third amendment of the KTW-BWGL in March 2022, there is a transition period until March 2025. After that, the old elastomer guideline will be withdrawn.

With the GEMÜ R480 Victoria series, GEMÜ gives its customers planning security for future projects that extend beyond the aforementioned transition period and can supply suitable butterfly valves for the long term.
