Launch of the new STOLL trend collection COLOR IN KNITTING
Just in time for ITMA 2023 in Milan, the flat knitting machine manufacturer STOLL has launched its new trend collection. The work full of inspiration and know-how is entitled COLOR IN KNITTING and presents a range of different knitting techniques, machine gauges and diverse product intentions. Among other things, the new E20 machine gauge is presented, which makes it possible to produce exceptionally fine goods and products.
In addition, COLOR IN KNITTING contains so-called "workflow styles" that show how digital software tools can support and accelerate the design process. At the heart of this is k.innovation CREATE DESIGN. The design software solution was developed by STOLL together with KM.ON and makes it possible to digitally create and simulate the shape and structures of a knitted garment. In conjunction with external 3D software, entire garments can also be realistically represented virtually, speeding up design decisions. The follow-up process also benefits from the possibilities offered by digitization. Once the digital CREATE DESIGN project has been sent to a knitter, k.innovation CREATE PLUS can be used to create a knittable program based on the precise design transmitted. This significantly speeds up product development and leads to improved communication between designers and technicians.
On the subject of sustainability, COLOR IN KNITTING includes a range of original, seamless products that illustrate the potential of STOLL-knit and wear® technology.
Continuously knitted garments do not require seams and can thus make an important contribution to waste reduction. In addition, fewer process steps are required in the production chain - with benefits for production efficiency.
For another highlight of COLOR IN KNITTING, the creative minds at STOLL have been working on imitating different yarn effects using knitting technology.
In the latest Trend Collection, typical slub yarn effects and the look of fabrics such as crêpe de chine/crêpe georgette were interpreted using the possibilities of flat knitting technology. The results are impressive!
On the occasion of STOLL's 150th anniversary, COLOR IN KNITTING also offers a glimpse into the past. Inspired by patterns from the archives, the STOLL team has interpreted historic stitch structures in a modern and contemporary way to create stunning designs.
STOLL's latest trend collection coincides with the creation of an invaluable resource for the creative process: the book Color in Knitting: By Designers, For Designers. The publication includes a comprehensive guide to designing with color using a variety of flat knitting techniques and targets a diverse audience.
