How to clamp the largest and heaviest workpieces without any problems
Workpieces up to approx. 50 cm are usually clamped mechanically and manually with three- or four-jaw chucks, or automatically by pneumatics or hydraulics. However, if the workpieces to be machined are larger, face plates are used. They also hold much larger parts securely in place by means of claw boxes and clamping spindles. Users can choose between 7 standard thread sizes from TR 50 to TR 200, with which clamping forces of up to 500 kN can be achieved thanks to the proven principle of force multiplication by means of a wedge clamping system. In addition, self-locking in any clamping position and a high degree of rigidity are achieved. The power clamping spindles are equipped with an internal automatic changeover system to switch between external and internal clamping. The power clamping spindles MSP/MSPD from JAKOB Antriebstechnik convince with very high clamping forces, a large power clamping stroke and simple operation and assembly. Thus, maximum operational safety can be guaranteed.
To guarantee this permanently, JAKOB recommends (depending on the frequency of the clamping cycles) a regular inspection of the same once or twice a year. This is particularly easy with JAKOB force measuring systems, such as the hydraulic, self-sufficient force transducer HMD. If the clamping forces deviate by approx. 25% - 30% from the specified nominal values, an overhaul is advisable. The maintenance can be carried out directly by JAKOB. Alternatively, JAKOB also offers training courses to certify participants as operating or maintenance personnel. In this way, installation and maintenance can be carried out in the future in the own company in a time-saving manner.
