Filling scales facilitate, accelerate and improve filling processes

Filling scales are used wherever free-flowing materials are to be automatically filled or dosed. This can be the dosing of granulates, powders or fibres in chemical, pharmaceutical or technical production as well as in the food industry.

Filling scales in the food industry
The filling of spices, tea, coffee, sweets, powders or granulates are just a few examples of the use of these scales by food manufacturers. Various filling spouts and discharge hoppers are used here. The weighing range can be between 50 g and 5 kg. It is often advisable to place the scale in a transparent housing to minimize fine dust contamination, e.g. from spices. Filling scales used in the food industry must be calibrated and comply with various legal requirements, such as the German Packaging Ordinance or hygiene regulations.

Use in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries
The range of applications extends from tablets, capsules, powders and granulates to the weighing of explosives. These filling scales often have a small weighing range and extremely small tolerance ranges down to 1 mg. To prevent environmental interference with the weighing process and to protect the user from fine dust, these scales are often enclosed in a transparent housing.

Filling scales for checking piece goods
In technical production, the completeness of a part or package can often be quickly determined by its weight. The part to be checked is dropped into the filling scale. If the weight is within the tolerance limits, the scale tips it out in one direction. If the weight is outside the tolerance limits, the part is tilted in another direction.
