Vapour permeation / pervaporation is utilized for dehydration of ethanol, bio-ethanol, fuel-ethanol and fusel oils Vapour permeation / pervaporation is utilized for dehydration of ethanol, bio-ethanol, fuel-ethanol and fusel oils
We offer standard- as well as tailor-made systems.

Stand-Alone-Systems:
Raw alcohol in liquid state is taken from a tank farm, and by means of membranes it is dehydrated to low water content.

Integrated Dehydration Systems:
The dehydration system is directly integrated in the rectification of existing or new ethanol systems. In doing so the energy demand of the complete ethanol system is minimized by arranging an optimized equipment configuration and strict heat integration.

Reference Plant:
We invite our customers to visit our reference plant.

Advantages for Plant Operators:
  • Energy saving in reboiler and condenser of the rectification since membrane systems allows feeding with up to 20 % water. At the same time the throughput of existing plants can be increased.
  • Energy saving compared to molecular sieve due to a smaller recirculation quantity to distillation with only few ethanol.
  • Low maintenance costs since no alternating process conditions are available, e.g. pressure swing, and no switching components.
  • Utilization of entrainers not required.
  • Treatment of chemicals not required.
  • Simple maintenance and plant enlargement, even during plant operation due to the modular design.
  • Energy saving by overall heat integration.
Improved Product Quality, Plan Integration and Safety due to:
  • an ethanol content of up to 99,95 %
  • direct connection to the rectification columns since process pressures of up to 5 bar and temperatures of up to 140 °C are allowed
  • Compatibility with fusel oils
