Electronic circuit boards made of glass (IMPAeGlass ) by Irlbacher Blickpunkt Glas GmbH
Printing electronics on glass is our hobby. For more than 15 years, we have been screen printing conductors and complete circuits directly onto glass substrates. For our customers, this opens up innovative possibilities for modern, high-quality-looking HMI design. In this way, the conventional printed circuit board can be replaced by glass in numerous areas of application.
We apply different color layers to the glass using inorganic and, above all, environmentally friendly ceramic screen printing. For electronics, these are then supplemented by functionalized printing of conductor track structures and electronic circuits. The electronic layout is not visible from the front. In the subsequent hardening process, the individual functional layers enamel to form a material bond.
We produce the corresponding artwork in-house using high-resolution exposure systems. Structure widths of up to 80 µm (fine pitch) can be realized in series production.
The electronically functionalized glass with its printed circuit is then conventionally SMD assembled. common microcontrollers of the QFN (or MLF), SOP or SSOP types can be processed without any problems.
