From the automotive industry to the packaging industry to metal technology or certain sanitary items, such as components for shower hoses, various processing companies are therefore dependent on deep drawing, or deep-drawn parts. According to DIN 8583, deep drawing is classified as a pressure forming process. The aim of this production technique is to form a hollow body from a flat sheet blank (also known as a round blank) by upsetting and stretching. An essential advantage of, for example, aluminium deep-drawing, stainless steel deep-drawing or metal spinning is, among other things, that the respective material structure of the starting material is not negatively affected. In fact, the exact opposite is the case: due to the plastic forming, the structure of the material is actually improved. Typically, a wide range of starting materials is used in deep drawing, from steel, brass or copper to stainless steel, nickel or aluminum, and even a wide variety of alloys.
