Corrosion and wear limit the service life of plants and machines. By using specially developed ceramic components and coatings, the service life can be extended and thus repair and downtimes can be shortened. Intensive research and development has and therefore materials in the hand, whose wear resistance takes a top position.

In addition to components made of the ceramic materials aluminium oxide, silicon carbide and nitride-bonded silicon carbide, hard metals, composites and cermets as well as coatings (flame spraying, vacuum plasma and high velocity plasma spraying) made of various ceramics, metals with mixtures of hard materials are also used. Depending on the requirements, the products can also be provided with intermediate or adhesive layers.

Standard components are individual mosaics and mats made from them, either on paper/kraft foil or rubber, plates, solid and hollow cylinders or pipes, segments, arch segments, shaped pieces and cones.

The ceramics are either glued, vulcanized or welded on. For use in the food industry, there are also ceramics or hard metals with the corresponding food approval (FDA approval).

In addition to the use of ceramics, fused cast basalt, fused corundum, chromium chilled cast iron and hard overlay welding as well as wear-resistant concrete are also used in some cases.
