Our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF): Making responsibility visible - product by product

Climate protection starts in the detail - with every single product. That is why we at HUCK Seiltechnik have reached an important milestone: together with the experts from Five Glaciers Consulting, we have calculated the product carbon footprint (PCF) for around 250 of our products. This not only creates transparency, but also provides targeted impetus for more climate-friendly product development.

What is the product carbon footprint?

The PCF shows how many CO₂ emissions are generated during the entire life cycle of a product - from raw material extraction, production and use through to disposal or recovery ("cradle-to-grave"). This holistic approach makes it clear where emissions are generated - and where we can effectively reduce them.

Scientifically sound - individually calculated

A customized calculation model was developed for the analysis that is precisely tailored to our processes. The interdisciplinary team at Five Glaciers - consisting of experts with doctorates in environmental and engineering sciences - determined the carbon footprint of each individual product based on the latest scientific methods.

Results with an impact

The project was successfully completed in May 2025. The result: a clear overview of the emissions footprint of each product and valuable starting points for improvements. Whether material selection, production processes or product design: there is potential for reducing emissions everywhere.
