Maximum insulation for cryogenic gases

The advantages of the flexible gas lock

Modern cryogenic containers are true masters of insulation. The secret lies in the highly complex double-wall technology, which was specially developed for the storage and transportation of cryogenic, liquefied gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, argon or helium.

In order to reduce the heat input to an absolute minimum, a technical high vacuum is generated between the inner and outer container, ideally in the range of 0.05 to 0.001 mbar. However, the challenge is not only to generate this vacuum, but also to maintain it for years without requiring maintenance. This is precisely where the innovative gas lock from JAKOB comes in.

In contrast to a permanently installed vacuum valve, this solution offers a decisive design advantage: the gas lock can be completely separated from the container after the evacuation process. This prevents damage to the valve during rough everyday transportation and eliminates potential leakage points. Should the insulation vacuum nevertheless decrease after a long period of use, the system enables the insulation to be re-evacuated quickly and easily. This technology ensures that the cryogenic containers offer maximum thermal efficiency over the long term.
