A technology supplier specializing in advanced casting technology for machine and plant engineering
The German Siempelkamp Foundry based in Krefeld is the largest hand-molding foundry in the world. It produces large and heavy castings weighing up to 320 tons for the areas of energy conversion, raw material processing as well as press and machine construction. The company looks back on a long history and experience in foundry technology and attaches great importance to safe work processes, environmental protection and high product quality.
Siempelkamp is an important supplier for the global industry. To ensure a smooth production process for castings of the highest quality, the company relies on measuring technology from ZEISS. By using the ZEISS ATOS LRX 3D scanner, Siempelkamp not only achieves effective quality assurance, but also increased energy efficiency and careful use of valuable resources, as rejects are reduced.
The measuring technology is part of a comprehensive digitalization strategy. Thanks to the full-surface measurement data, the company can track the component geometry of all products from the model to the casting mould to the finished casting in digital form.
No limits: Innovative processes for measuring components of all sizes
Siempelkamp Giesserei has been benefiting from the advantages of the ZEISS ATOS 3D scanner for over 10 years. In order to reduce the manual effort to a minimum, Siempelkamp Giesserei has decided to use the latest scanner in an automated setup. Together with ZEISS, Siempelkamp Giesserei has installed the world's largest non-contact robot measuring cell for the production control of cast components. The heart of the system is the ZEISS ATOS LRX 3D scanner, which was specially developed for large measurement volumes and harsh production environments.
The automated project measuring cell efficiently captures large components and generates full-surface data. The software guides you through the entire inspection process, from automatic programming of the robot to data acquisition, inspection and reporting - all from a single source! The high-tech solution enables the fully automated inspection of components with an impressive length of more than 20 meters. This innovation increases the efficiency and accuracy of measurement results by enabling comprehensive analyses.
