Natural cooling agents, like R290 (propane), have a similarly low global warming potential (GWP) as CO2 (<3), while conventional refrigerants such as R134a have a GWP of 1430 and thus have a disproportionately greater impact on global warming when released into the environment.

The ACT label certification of Centrifuge 5427 R makes it even easier for customers to choose a more sustainable product, since this label gives a clear, third-party verified information about its environmental impact (e.g. manufacturing, energy and water usage as well as packaging and product end-of-life).

However, the new Centrifuge 5427 R scores not only with its reliable propane cooling: Due to its compact footprint and the dual-row rotor FA-45-48-11 for up to 48 x 1.5/2 mL tubes, it is the optimal solution for laboratories with a high sample throughput.
