New Eppendorf Conical Tubes 25 mL variants for even better sample recovery

Eppendorf’s last tubes innovation – the conical tube format 25 mL – comes with new versions: Amber, Protein LoBind® and DNA LoBind®.

The innovative material of the amber-colored Conical Tubes 25 mL is highly transparent, while at the same time effectively protecting the sample from low-wavelength light. This way, the pipette tip immersion can be safely monitored during liquid transfer, which helps avoid cross-contamination.

The Protein LoBind Conical Tubes minimizes the risk of non-specific protein and peptide samples sticking to the walls of the tubes. This ensures the best possible sample recovery, which is especially important when working with samples with low initial concentration.

The DNA LoBind Conical Tubes help to optimize DNA recovery when preparing and storing for realtime PCR quanitifications. The choice of vessel can affect the reliability of DNA standard panels preparation used in real-time PCR assays for absolute quantifications. This can be seen, for example, in the retention of nucleic acids in vessels used for serial dilution and storage of standards.

At Eppendorf, we recognize the key role that plastic consumables play in the laboratory. At the same time, we are aware that balancing the demands of modern science with concern for the environment is a key challenge for the management of a life science laboratory. Therefore, we follow the principle of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" whenever and wherever possible and increasingly rely on the use of bio-based raw materials.
