How are drive battery temperatures monitored during handling and transport?

A high-resolution thermal imaging camera thermoIMAGER TIM QVGA from Micro-Epsilon monitors the thermal properties of the drive batteries either during destacking or on a conveyor belt. The camera is mounted stationary for this measurement task or guided to the measurement point by a robot arm. With a single, non-contact measurement, it records the temperature profile of the entire battery surface. The single measurement is sufficient to reliably identify possible heat pockets and defects on the battery. Thanks to an image repetition frequency of 80 Hz, short cycle times and a high throughput can be realized.
