The eCap measures voltage and current with very high resolution and calculates many other values, such as power, power factor, energy or frequency. Communication takes place via Modbus RTU. Once measurement data from machines and plants are digitized, threshold values and functions of the plant can be set via the cloud or a PLC via software. In addition, the data can be recorded and used for data mining. This gives the:m user:in the ability to perform analysis, make forward-looking decisions to optimize the performance of their:its application. For this purpose, the eCap can be combined with PLCs, IoT gateways or similar systems, depending on the application.
The eCap impresses with high technical performance:
Excellent sampling resolution: 24 bit
Very high sensitivity: 1/100.000 FMR
High sampling rate: 9,800 samples/s
Very high accuracy: up to 0.01 %
Digital input for local integration of additional monitoring functions.
Digital output for local activation of the monitored device, e.g. a drive or protective relay.
Convenient installation and personalization
The eCap has a compact installation width of 45 mm/1.8 inches and can be easily parameterized on the front of the device via screwdriver in a de-energized state. Customer-specific functions can be easily implemented and provide an accurate digital image of analog values and trends. Firmware updates are carried out via Modbus RTU.
With PLC or IoT module
An application example for the TELE eCap is the combination with a PLC. Here, the analog electrical values are read from the machine, converted into digital values and transmitted via cable (Modbus RTU) to a Modbus master. This variant enables the customer to access the digital data directly on site and to react promptly to the activity of the machine.
If the eCap is combined with an IoT module, the data collected from the machines can be transferred to the cloud via an Internet connection. In this way, users with various devices (PC, tablet, cell phone, etc.) can access the digital measurement data from anywhere in the world. In practice, the eCap can be integrated into both new and existing plants (retrofit).
