High-performance laser sensor with integrated EtherNet/IP interface

the optoNCDT 1900 series of laser sensors from MICRO-EPSILON Messtechnik GmbH & Co. KG are particularly compact and high-performance. As of now, the displacement and distance sensors offer even more options for integration in industrial environments. In addition to the sensors with integrated EtherCAT interface, new models with integrated EtherNet/IP interface are now also available. The sensors show their strengths particularly in very fast processes, for example in battery as well as electronics production, in packaging machines and in robotics applications.

The optoNCDT 1900 laser sensors measure displacement and distance extremely accurately and at high speed. The new integrated EtherNet/IP interface adds another option for reliable industrial connectivity to the portfolio. Models with integrated EtherCAT interface are already available. In many applications, close networking of multiple devices and machines is required. This is often achieved via modern fieldbus systems. The integration of Micro-Epsilon sensors in Industrial Ethernet controllers is made easy by the integrated interface.

The high performance and accuracy combined with small size characterize these laser sensors. They solve displacement and distance measurements extremely quickly and are especially designed for processes with high speeds. They are used in injection molding, packaging and CNC machines, the battery industry, smartphone production, robot applications and wood processing, among others.

Thanks to direct data output via Industrial Ethernet, time delays caused by additional A/D conversion are avoided. An oversampling function also contributes to fast measured value acquisition. This makes it possible to record or transmit measured values four times faster than the PLC's query cycle would allow.
